What have I learned from working with financial advisors? Here’s what you discover when you’re the CEO of an insurtech startup that handles more than CZK 1 billion in insurance policies every year.
Working with the largest Czech brokerage firm, Broker Trust, a.s., comes with many challenges. Insurance and financial advisory is a resilient industry, and that is both its greatest strength and its greatest trap.
We live in an era when customers expect simplicity, speed, and digital access to everything, from banking to healthcare. It’s no longer enough to simply “work well” or offer CZK 1,000 for opening an account. Innovation is a must.
Time is money, and clients want to spend that time on things that matter to them, not on things they have to do. This is exactly where insurtech platforms step in alongside traditional insurers. Not as competitors, but as partners for change.
- Insurtech brings speed – a pilot project can be launched in weeks, not years.
- Technological flexibility – API-first solutions that adapt even to complex back ends.
- Customer focus – UX and the digital journey are key parameters of success.
- An experimental culture – the ability to test and fine-tune a product based on data, not impressions.
Personally, I believe the future of insurance is hybrid: traditional know-how and capital + insurtech agility and technology. Traditional insurers have what insurtechs need: market trust and robust backing. Insurtechs, in turn, have what insurers are looking for: speed of innovation and a client-first drive to get things done. That’s exactly why they need each other more than ever.
A big thank-you goes to all the insurers and clients who have already discovered, each in their own way, the added value of Verzuz and are one step ahead with us.
